THE MOTH MAN CRIES

BY MARSHALL LOGAN GIBBS

"The Moth Man Cries" blends historical drama with supernatural folk horror. It’s October 1967, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. For Dellie Harper, life is a quiet exercise in obedience to her pious, domineering mother. But the quiet is shattered when a late-night drive with her cousin ends with a crash and a terrifying vision in their headlights: a colossal, winged creature with burning red eyes.

As the sensational story of “The Moth Man" ignites their family, Dellie finds her world collapsing inward. The creature in the woods becomes a test of faith that threatens Dellie's fragile, forbidden love for her devout neighbor Bonnie. Caught between a creature that cries and a God that condemns, Dellie must race to decipher the meaning of the Moth Man, before blood runs the river red.
